Last weekend DC's Davi Millsaps overcame a bevy of obstacles to take 3rd place at the always unique and challenging Daytona Supercross.
These days in Supercross, earning a podium is no easy task. Just look at Davi's Daytona battle. After missing the cut in his heat race, Davi was forced to deal with the Last Chance Qualifier and place in the top two just to make it to the main event. There, Davi got stacked up in a big first turn pile-up, causing him to remount and pass, pass, pass to get to the front of the field. By the last lap he was in 4th, faced with the rear fender of his rival Mike Alessi. Davi made a super gnarly pass on Mike, causing Mike to crash. Davi ended up with 3rd, Mike 4th.
From here, the AMA Supercross series moves on to New Orleans this weekend. To check out more on the Daytona SX, see the photos and words on twmx.com.
