Round Three of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross-
Rains pounding on Anaheim for week strait everyone thinking, it’s going to be a mud race. Well the boys over at Dirt Wurx did one hell of a job keeping the track 100% perfect for the night festivities. It was race not to be missed. DC athlete Josh Hill put it down showing the world that he is in the championship chase.
450 Supercross Main Event - 20 riders, 20 laps. Austin Stroupe took the early on the Suzuki 450. But James Stewart took over the lead by the next corner. At the end of the first lap Stewart was out front, his team-mate Josh Hill in second.
Stewart was leading, but team-mate Josh Hill was trying to get by. Dungey moved into third. Stroupe right behind his Suzuki team-mate. Hill tried to stick a wheel underneath Stewart but couldn’t make it stick this try.
Hill kept trying to go underneath Stewart. Finally, on lap six, in the last corner before the finish line, a tight left hander, Hill took over the lead from Stewart.
Hill and Stewart gave the crowd a show battling back and forth for the lead, Stewart went for the pass in a set of whoops ... bobbled a bit and it allowed Dungey to go by him instead. Hill up front, Dungey second, then Stewart, followed by Short.
The lead three where bar to bar. On lap 14, down the long start straight, Dungey got past past Hill and into the lead. Dungey pulled the lead out to about five bike lenghts. After 20 hard fought laps, Ryan Dungey controled the win, and the series points lead. Josh Hilll finishes second, and James Stewart takes third. DC’s rider Davi Millsaps finished the 8th for the night.
Lites- The night started of well for Star Racing Team with booth Brock Tickle and Max Anstie with an easy transfer to the main event. When the gates dropped for the main event, DC’s good friend Josh Hansen grabbed the holeshot once again but let Jake Weimer by in the first corner. Weimer took off never to be challenged for the lead. Tickle was taken out in a right hand corner before the first set of triples, which knocked him back, to last. When he got back up he pinned it back to the top ten. Anstie ended the night with 7th and Tickle with a well fought race finished 10th. Searle fell short to shouldr injury and he with drew from the races early in the night.
